Transgender artist Tonia (writer-director Rovinelli) meets American boyfriend Franz (Thomas Love) in New York City, and begins work on an exhibition devoted to gay German author Ronald M. Schernikau. Forging a queer household with another young couple, Paul (Edem Dela-Seshie) and Erika (Rachika Samarth), they engage in protest and find their lives merging with Schernikau's 1980s novel So Schön.

Fearsome and vulgar crime boss Albert Spica (Michael Gambon) owns a fancy French restaurant, where he dines nightly with his long-suffering spouse Georgina (Helen Mirren). Fleeing Albert's abuse, Georgina begins an affair with a sensitive fellow diner (Alan Howard), under the protection of the kitchen staff.

When their car breaks down during a storm, straitlaced couple Brad (Barry Bostwick) and Janet (Susan Sarandon) seek shelter at a creepy castle, Their host is the flamboyant Dr. Frank-N-Furter (Tim Curry), who plans to unveil his latest scientific experiment, before a gathering of eccentric guests and sinister servants.
