Heads and Tails + Q&A w/ directors
Turkish-Israeli entrepreneurs Coya and Sima, procure tails of hair from Turkish traders and sell them to wig makers in Tel Aviv, Ramat Gan and Bnei Brak, who cater to Orthodox Jewish women. Aylin Kuryel and Fırat Yücel’s insightful documentary examines the curious process by which hair from Anatolian women becomes a source of beauty and a valuable kosher commodity.
