Boogie Nights
The year is 1977. Disco rules the dance floor, and porn is a vital (if disreputable) part of the film industry. Shy suburban teen Eddie is busing tables in a busy nightclub when he's discovered by aduit film director Jack Horner. Eddie is whisked off to the San Fernando Valley and transformed into porn star Dirk Diggler. There he finds a messy makeshift family of fellow performers and crew. However, drugs, hubris and the 80s, soon take their toll.

With the city evacuated and placed under quarantine, only a few remain in their homes, including Hsiao Kang, a solitary shopkeeper. After a plumber drills a hole in his floor, Hsiao Kang discovers his lovely (and equally lonely) neighbor living in the apartment downstairs.
