The documentary is a funny, sometimes terrifying, but non-judgmental look at the new populist politics sweeping Western democracies. Throughout the history of Hollywood there have been many unmitigated disasters. One of the legendary tragedies was the 1996 attempt to remake THE ISLAND OF DR. MOREAU, based on the science fiction novel by H.G. Wells. Despite having a top level cast including Marlon Brando and Val Kilmer, and Richad Stanley one of the industry's most visionary new directors at the helm, the production was a disaster. Stanley (HARDWARE) worked on the script for 4 years only to end up getting fired 4 days into the shoot. Then, Hollywood brought in a different director (John Frankenheimer) but things only got wilder and weirder.
